Wednesday’s guest is local author Thomas Heard Robertson, who is set to share tales from his recent book, “Resisting Sherman: A Confederate Surgeon’s Journal”. (Thu 06/23)  It’s time for more Music in the Park–Thursday night at 7pm at Maude Edenfield Park in North Augusta. This week, the Thursday night series presents the sounds of master trumpet player Fabio Mann & Friends performing al fresco. The free event is a great way to spend a summer evening. (Thu 6/23)  One of the originators of the “boy band” phenomenon is playing the Bell Auditorium on Telfair Street. Long before N-Sync, Back Street Boys, and even New Kids On the Block, there was “New Edition”. Thursday evening at 8, New Edition is set to mesmerize fans with their electrifying showmanship as they sing tunes from their multi-platinum albums, as well as new songs released this year. (Fri 6/24)  The Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art presents a new exhibit: "Tatiana Klacsmann: The Magical Word of No”. Her work consists of prints, drawings, paintings, mixed media collages, and sculptures which uphold her aesthetic appreciation for beauty and precision over efficiency. (Sat 06/25)  This Saturday, Elvis ’56 rocks the Imperial Theatre with phenomenal talent and tribute artist Cody Ray Slaughter, backed by David Fontana, the son of Elvis’ Rock and Roll Hall of Fame drummer DJ Fontana. Through music and storytelling, “Elvis ‘56” paints a picture of Elvis in his breakout year—before he became the King of Rock and Roll. Showtime is 7:30. (Tue 06/28)  This coming Tuesday, June 28th, the Appleby Library’s popular summertime music series presents the Fort Gordon Signal Corps Band performing in the Garden starting at 8pm. It’s part of this season’s “Evenings in the Appleby Gardens”series featuring fun, free concerts open to the public.
