A couple of months ago, we told you about two Georgia elementary schools who won first and third prizes, respectively, in the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP).

Woodlawn Elementary School in Chatsworth, winners of the National title for elementary schools, is now also the World Championship winner after a competition held in St. Louis. Not only did they out-shoot all of the other elementary school teams, they also beat their own score from the recent national competition. There, they scored the highest ever by an elementary team with 3,300 points. They won the championship title with 3,320 points. They are reportedly the first program in the country to win a state, national and world championship in the same year.

Congratulations to the Woodlawn team!

If you’re interested in starting an archery in the schools program at your school, check out their website for registration information. Co-ed programs like NASP are great options for schools looking to add more athletic options without the expense of two separate teams.
