You’re smart. You pay attention to what’s going on in the world. And you have expertise that can add depth and relevance to our stories and programs. The Southern Education Desk is looking for "turnaround schools" - failing schools that have turned themselves around and found success. We want to profile these schools and find out how they did it. Are there characteristics that are common to all turnaround schools and can other schools use them as a model for achieving their own success? What are the elements needed to turn a school around? How important is strong leadership? What role do parents play and how vital is the role of the entire community in making turnaround schools possible? We'd love to hear from you - not only to get your answers to these questions, but also to solicit your help in finding suitable schools to profile.

Please help public media stations across the South better understand turnaround schools. We’d love to hear from you about your experiences with turnaround schools and what you think is necessary for turnaround schools to be successful. Share your thoughts with us here.
