Top players: Kamryn Grier (13.8 points, 9.5 rebounds), Addison Hoard (11.4 points, 4.3 assists), Carley Segars (8.5 points, 7.5 rebounds). Grier was voted the Region 8 Player of the Year and had 14 points – 10 in the fourth quarter – and 10 rebounds in the semifinal game. Hoard hit two key free throws in the final three seconds to secure the semifinal win.

Mount Paran Christian Eagles

Record/ranking: 30-1, No. 1 seed from Region 6, ranked No. 1

Coach: Stephanie Dunn

Top players: Jessica Fields, Clara Alexander, Jacalyn Myrthill. All three were named to the all-region team. Fields had five points and eight rebounds in the championship game last year.

How they got there: def. Eagle’s Landing Christian 33-17, def. Model 55-22, def. Thomson 54-43, def. Landmark Christian 58-51.

Game notes: Mt. Paran will be going for its second straight state championship. It defeated Hebron Christian 54-49 in the Class A Private championship game last season. … Banks County is playing in the championship game for the first time.
