So, here we are…

400-plus teams down to the 240 that are chasing the eight titles at the Benz by the time the middle of December is upon us…

AND I STILL CAN’T BELIEVE THAT WE’RE AT THIS POINT OF THE SCHEDULE…

I know you can’t, either… But it’s still amazing that, the other day, folks were just starting practice…

So, let’s go through the last mad dash of the regular season and figure out how we got here…

Lowndes, Tift, and Colquitt are your top three in region 1-7A and I think all three will go a long way this season with their QB’s of Barrett, Collier, and Krajewski. The only quadrant that doesn’t have a region 1 team is “low right” and Westlake would have had to play Camden if all four had made it through.

And Region 1-6A has Lee County, Coffee, Northside (who gets Brunswick), and Valdosta (who goes to Glynn Academy)- talk about a fun Round One (for those of us outside and not playing in it).

How about Warner Robins (and their 38-billion new uniform combinations- which were all pretty cool looking) and their finish to the regular season with the big win over Bainbridge…? Ben, Frank, and Mister Collinsworth give us a look…

Over in the east, Zach and Nathan give us a look at teams making statements as we get to the last week on another “Football Friday Night.” Screven and Thomson pick up big wins. The Gamecocks got their region title with a win over JeffCo in Sylvania.

After Bremen was denied their region title at the hands of Calhoun at The Reeve, Ringgold was next in their sights for playoff positioning. Dave Staley and our friends at Newschannel9/WTVC give us a look at what went down…

So, as we take a bit of a break…

Here’s the question of the week: What playoff match-up are you looking at the most this week as the one that should be circled on brackets for all to see…???

(By the way, the Bremen-Lovett game has two teams going at it ranked in the top ten…)

Let us know on the GPB social media platforms- Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, and Instagram… because, we’re trying to get to 15,000 followers on twitter and 30,000 on Facebook. If you’re that lucky person, you’ll get some GPB swag- maybe even something off my desk!

Here’s a team to pay attention to: Rabun County…

Lee Shaw and the Wildcats are near the top in the double-A polls and QB Bailey Fisher put up 7TD’s (total) against Monticello last week in their 52-7 win. Fisher threw for 6 and our friends at Blitz Sports have the look-see and Bailey…

So, it’s that time…

“Football Fridays in Georgia” will be at Mill Creek Community Stadium for visiting West Forsyth and we’ll be there. “All-Access Pass” starts at 7 with kickoff a little after 7:30. It will be Matt, Tommy, Nikky, myself, and the whole GPB crew out in the field tracking that game and ALL the others for your Round One excitement.

Be there with us however you can and, remember, if you haven’t already- download the GPB Sports app for Android and iPhone.

Play it safe, everyone… We’ll see you at the stadium!
