South Cobb has had four head coaching changes in the last 18 months. New head coach Sherrod Rainge says, “We are going to learn from our past…everything is about now and going forward.”

This is not his first year with the school. He started four years ago as a volunteer coach at South Cobb.

“I decided, you know, I really like this, so let me try to get in the building…they hired me in the cafeteria," said Coach Rainge.

He started serving students food in the lunch line and then six months later, got a job working in the Special Education department. He later received an offer to become the head coach for the Eagles 2014 football season. It was an offer he could not resist.

Coach Rainge and his team are looking at this season as a fresh start. This new beginning includes not only a new head coach, but a new division.

Below are the Coach Rainge’s thoughts on the team change from Region 4AAAAAA to
3AAAAAA.

Coach Rainge is looking forward to what this new season will bring. His excitement and passion for the South Cobb Football program is contagious.
