WHAT A WEEKEND.

Well, I am just about recovered from three exciting days of high school basketball in Macon,GA.
Last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday GPB Sports televised the GHSA Boys and Girls Basketball Championships
live from the Macon Coliseum. Fifteen boys and girls and wheelchair champs were crowned.
GPB was on the air about 33 hours over the course of those three days and we broadcast some terrific games.

Congratulations to the Blue Devils and Lady Blue Devils of Norcross High School who pulled off the
double-double, winning both the boys and girls 6A divisions. Add to that the GHSA football championship
Norcross won in December and Norcross becomes the first Georgia high school EVER to pull off that three-peat
in the same school year. Well Done.

The Miller Grove boys won a fifth straight title, while the Wesleyan girls team won its 6th straight and
10th under coach Jan Azar.

The Southwest Dekalb girls won right at the buzzer and in boys Class AAA Johnson-Savannah defeated cross town
rival Savannah High for the title as the Atom Smashers rule that division. I had to get Atom Smashers in there
somewhere.

All and all, just a terrific three days of dunks, blocks, three pointers and finger rolls. Congratulations to
all the teams, players, coaches, trainers, principals, athletic directors, and teachers that took part in
these festivities.

And the Fans. The fans were fan-tastic. During each of our GPB Tailgate Party pregame shows,
Claire Simms or Kat Carney interviewed students and cheerleaders and teachers, and friends and really
brought some great energy to the show. If you could bottle that kind of enthusiasm, you could light
the world.

I can't wait for next year.
