Signing Day Nears

The Super Bowl is this weekend as the San Francisco 49ers collide with the Baltimore Ravens for the NFL's top prize, but next week is the Super Bowl for high school football players in Georgia and all over the country....National Signing Day.

Next week we will officially find out where guys like Robert Nkemdiche of Grayson, Alvin Kamara of Norcross,
and Vonn Bell of Ridgleland will play their college football.

Its a big day for fans. I will be keeping an eye on which players sign with my alma mater, Notre Dame.
Hopefully guys with real girlfriends will sign to play in South Bend. Mark Richt is looking at another great recruiting crop for Georgia, and Paul Johnson likewise at Georgia Tech.

It is always alot of fun for me to see players I have watched mature and grow and improve on the high school level get a chance to play on Saturdays.

But the best part of signing day is seeing the miles of smiles on the faces of the parents. The pride they feel is busting out all over the place and for very good reasons. These parents have alot to be proud of. They have done their jobs in helping their sons get a college scholarship which is the first step toward a college degree.
And the fact they will be able to watch their sons play on Saturdays is a huge huge plus.

So we here at GPB Sports will be keeping you posted. Its been a long time since so many blue blue blue chip
players have waited this long to declare.......adds to the drama, don't you think?
