Head injuries are a common problem in sports. At the high school level, studies show that while 10 to 15 percent of athletes playing contact sports sustain concussions each year, only a fraction receive proper treatment. Professional athletes are required by their respective leagues to test and stay on top of their health so it is critical that they set an example for younger athletes to do the same.
GPB’s New Media team visited Road Atlanta in Brasselton, GA for the Petit Le Mans Cup to find out about the many tools, tests, tips and safety equipment that you can use to prevent and treat sports related head and neck injuries.
