Martina McBride helps build Atlanta playground for children

Country music superstar, Martina McBride, recently set out to help construct a new playground for children at Atlanta’s Chastain Park.

The project, Chastain Park Conservancy Playground, needed $20,000 in funding. McBride’s fundraising efforts, through the website Crowdrise.com, eclipsed that figure by $7,000.

According to a report at TasteOfCountry.com the country music star is dedicated to supporting outdoor activities for children.

“Once again, I am extremely proud of Team Martina and their dedication and passion for helping make the world a better place,” the ‘I’m Gonna Love You Through It’ singer says. “This playground will be an all-ability green space that will serve thousands of children in the area. We all know playing outside is important for children’s health and development. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished space.”

The first 50 fans who raised $200 or more were given access to a pre-concert sound-check party with the singer prior to her September 28th concert at Chastain Park.
