The state of the art, one million square foot Caterpillar facility, is expected to employ 1,400 people when fully operational.

Work at the new plant will include major fabrications, paint and final assembly along with an on-site product distribution center for small track-type tractors and mini hydraulic excavators.

"The 'now hiring' sign is definitely hanging in our window," Henry stated in a release. "We want to remind applicants to apply for as many open positions as they have interest in, and to continue re-applying if they're not immediately contacted."

Starting wages for the production positions range from $11.25 - $18.33 per hour. Certain positions include a probationary period, where hourly wages are raised upon successful completion. Healthcare and 401K retirement plans are also offered to employees, according to the Monroe-ga.patch.com
