Medient Studios has announced plans to build a new $90 million movie studio in Effingham County near Savannah, GA.

The Effingham County Industrial Development Authority unanimously approved a memorandum of understanding with the studio on Tuesday. The project is expected to create more than 1,200 jobs.

Medient Chairman and CEO, Manu Kumaran, chose Georgia over New York and Pennsylvania for building Medient’s newest studio.

Medient Studios is home to the critically acclaimed movies Garp and Yellow.

All volunteers receive training, free parking and a catered meal provided by Carole Parks Catering.
