The Arizona Chemical company has broken ground on a $10 million Science & Technology Center in Savannah, GA. The new 27,000 square foot facility will replace the existing Savannah location.

“This is an exciting day for us,” said Carl Bilgrien, Vice President. “As a company, we are committed to a Vision of being a global leader in innovative, sustainable chemical solutions, and our newest S&T Center in Savannah will provide us with the resources to achieve that Vision.”

Arizona Chemical currently employs more than 200 in the Savannah area with a large refinery. The addition of the Science & Technology Center will mean 10-20 new scientists and chemists. The average salary for these positions will be $80,000.

According to the company website, Arizona Chemical is a world leader of bio-refined products for the adhesives, roads & construction, tires, lubricants, fuel additives, mining and oleochemicals markets. With more than 1,000 employees and state-of-the-art refineries in six countries on both sides of the Atlantic, Arizona Chemical provides sustainable raw materials to hundreds of companies and, in-turn, to millions of consumers all around the world. The company has headquarters offices in the U.S. in Jacksonville, Fla., and in the EU in Almere, the Netherlands.
