Soar With Reading has games and tips to prevent the summer learning lag

Soar with Reading, a joint project of PBS KIDS and JetBlue Airways, will once again kick off in late June and will encourage kids’ imaginations to take flight through reading. The program features online resources for parents and kids, literacy-based activity booklets and more, all available for free at Soar with Reading online. The website has fun games for kids to play with Hooper and tips for parents to use with pre-readers and early readers while traveling.

For more fun, free summer learning resources, find a library near you.

The PBS Kids summer literacy program continues this week in “Baby Kate Adventure Week” with today’s episode of ARTHUR at 5pm on GPB. In the Season 15 opener, Arthur races home from school to find a report; George appears on the radio show "15 Minutes of Fame"; and Kate and Pal battle the Red Claw, which wants to eliminate all imaginary friends so kids will play with cats. This silly fun includes great problem solving cues for kids using situations with which they can relate.
