Trick-or-Treat...Safety Tips

Although Monday, October 31 is the official day of Halloween, many will celebrate this weekend at local venues. GPB and Curious George will kick off Halloween at Fernbank BOO-seum Trick-or-Treat on Saturday, October 29 from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM! There will be lots of kid-friendly activities, from face painting to arts and crafts, along with treats.

Many children look forward to celebrating Halloween by dressing up in their favorite costumes and collecting lots of candy. But parents must make children aware of the dangers and review these safety tips for a fun-filled day:

• Find a safe place to collect treats

• Do not accept any unwrapped treats

• All treats should be examined by a trusted adult

• Adults should provide supervision at all times

• Make sure your child’s costume is visible to motorists (flashlight/reflective tape)

After some Halloween fun over the weekend, tune in to GPB on Monday, October 31 to see your favorite characters celebrate Halloween beginning at 6:00 AM!
