I Dreamed of Downton Last Night

One of my favorite parts of Downton Abbey is seeing the house and grounds. Being an obsessive googler, I researched the house and was thrilled to discover that not only were the interior scenes shot on site (with the exception of the servants' rooms), but that the actual house, Highclere Castle, is the home Earl Carnarvon and his family since 1679.
