Exploring Music

Celebrated for its depth, warmth, and curiosity, Exploring Music from WFMT offers an inviting look at classical music for listeners of all ages. Each week unfolds through a five-episode arc centered on a single theme, using storytelling to illuminate connections between music, history, literature, nature, and human experience. The series encourages audiences to listen closely, reflect thoughtfully, and discover new pathways into the art form.

New episodes of the program are hosted by Peter van de Graaff, who has also served as the host of WFMT’s nationally syndicated program Beethoven Network for more than 30 years. Older episodes are hosted by the late Bill McGlaughlin, a Peabody Award-winning broadcaster and a broadly experienced musician, conductor, and composer.
