School's back in session and Georgia’s fall concert lineup is already underway.

Georgia's live music industry lures millions of fans each year. In 2025, Atlanta's State Farm Arena ranked second nationally for attendance, and independent venues across the state contributed $1.1 billion of nearly $5 billion in music-related revenues.

Despite high ticket prices, concertgoers of all ages continue to seek musical experiences that put them close to the musicians and songs they love.

Here’s a month-by-month breakdown of unique events across the state. An asterisk (*) Indicates artists associated with Georgia industries or born in the state.

Singer-songwriter Patrick Droney performs a free concert tonight, Aug. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at City Green Live in Sandy Springs, Ga., north of Atlanta.

Droney told GPB he started out as a guitar prodigy at age 12 and is now known for rich storytelling and songs like his latest single, “Math of Us,” with Kelsea Ballerini.

"It's just the path that was laid in front of me, and I knew it as early as I can remember," Droney, who splits time between Brooklyn, N.Y., and Nashville, said of his life in music. "As a young person, even as a guitar-playing kid, I was like, 'Guitar solos were only as important as the songs they were in. And how do I follow my heroes that are making me feel these intense emotions?' The milestones at every single degree of our lives, whether you're 18, 12, 32, or 64, they're all incredibly relevant, important, and worthy of a story to tell."

Also this weekend, on Saturday, Aug. 22 at 7 p.m., Atlanta's Fox Theatre features a lineup of legendary British stars, including Haircut 100, Adam Ant, and Squeeze. (Tickets start at $96.25).

Haircut 100 ("Love Plus One," "Fantastic Day"), one of the new wave era's most underrated acts led by stellar songwriter Nick Heyward, is riding a joyful comeback with its 2026 album, Boxing the Compass — the group's first recording since its 1982 debut, Pelican West.

Adam Ant, beloved for his colorful makeup and video hits for "Stand and Deliver" and "Goody Two Shoes," is making his second visit to Atlanta in as many years, bringing loads of MTV nostalgia and drama to his "Antpeople" fans.

Squeeze was an FM radio mainstay in the late 1970s and 1980s with "Up the Junction," "Black Coffee in Bed" and "Tempted," and now has a 50-year catalog of hummable melodies to play for its loyal base in the region. The band's 2026 album Trixies was conceived by co-founders Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford when they were teenagers.

Members of Squeeze have performed in Georgia more than two dozen times over the years and the band considers Atlanta a favorite tour stop. One of Tilbrook's favorite Atlanta moments happened during his one of his gigs at the Variety Playhouse in Little Five Points in 2001, when, as the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported at the time, he gathered up the sparse Sunday crowd in the venue and followed a fan from the audience to their home for a living room singalong.

"Someone said, 'My apartment's just up the road. Should we go there?' And I said, 'Yeah, sure, let's go there,'" Tilbrook recalled to GPB about his unforgettable stunt. "So, people are filling the apartment and then, the people who couldn't get in were outside the window looking in. It was fantastic, because you can create that moment for yourself and for other people. It'll never happen again."

In Macon that same weekend, the fifth annual King of Soul Festival comes to the Piedmont Grand Opera House on Sept. 12. (Tickets start at $76.20). The event is headlined by CeeLo* Green and is a fundraiser for the Otis Redding Foundation. Justin Andrews is director of global initiatives for the foundation and is the grandson of the legendary Georgia singer who sang, "(Sittin' on) the Dock of the Bay" and "Try a Little Tenderness."

"The No. 1 thing that we always go for is who really has that love for Otis Redding and his music," Andrews said of choosing this year’s lineup. "And of course Cee-Lo does, and of course Lamont [Landers], is an upcoming rising star that loves Otis. And Eric Burton from the Black Pumas!"

What’s Andrews’ favorite song by his grandfather? "It shifts from, of course, 'Dreams to Remember' to 'Cigarettes and Coffee,'" he said of Redding’s catalog of hits. "You know, it just goes around the gamut. But for right now, my favorite is definitely 'Old Man Trouble.'"
