LISTEN: President Donald Trump emphasized that Lt. Gov. Burt Jones is the only candidate he's endorsed in the race. GPB's Sarah Kallis reports.

President Donald Trump held a tele-rally for Republican gubernatorial candidate Lt. Gov. Burt Jones on Tuesday.

On the call, Trump emphasized that Jones is the only candidate with his full support.

"He's just an incredible guy who has my complete and total endorsement in the race," the president said. "There's a lot of confusion. Everyone's saying I endorsed them. I didn't. I endorsed a man named Burt Jones, who's your lieutenant governor."

Republican candidate Rick Jackson has also  promised to be loyal to Trump if elected. Jackson and Jones are the frontrunners for the Republican primary and have spent millions of dollars on attack ads against each other. 

Trump also promoted Jones' polices on taxes and gun ownership. 

"This election is very important here in Georgia," Jones said on the call, "and [Trump's] illustrating how important it is to him by being with us this evening." 

Early voting in the primary election is already underway and goes until May 15. Primary election day is May 19.
