A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of North Georgia until 11 p.m. Monday, March 16, 2026.

The National Weather Service Atlanta has issued a winter weather advisory for parts of North Georgia until 11 p.m. Monday evening.

Counties under the advisory include:

  • Dade
  • Walker
  • Catoosa
  • Whitfield
  • Murray
  • Fannin
  • Gilmer
  • Union
  • Towns
  • Chattooga
  • Gordon
  • Pickens
  • Dawson
  • Lumpkin
  • White
  • Floyd
  • Bartow
  • Cherokee
  • Polk

The following cities included are: Trenton, Calhoun, Blairsville, Dawsonville, Cleveland, Summerville, Fort Oglethorpe, Cartersville, Hiawassee, Dahlonega, Jasper, LaFayette, Cedartown, Chatsworth, Rome, Ellijay, Woodstock, Blue Ridge, and Dalton.

Residents can expect scattered snow showers to bring brief heavy snowfall that could accumulate on grass and elevated surfaces. 

Breezy winds and heavier snowfall may cause brief reductions in visibility as low as a quarter mile.

Roads are currently projected to remain warm enough to not impact travel, but residents are advised to use caution when driving should visibility be impacted.

NWS advises those on the roads to slow down and use caution while traveling when visibility is low and to call the 511 for the latest road conditions.
