Prepare yourself for more winter weather this weekend.

The National Weather Service forecasts that snow is expected in Georgia beginning Friday night through Saturday, and Gov. Brian Kemp on Friday declared a new state of emergency, separate from the one that ended Thursday.

The highest amounts of snow will occur in eastern Georgia but central Georgia will likely get snow as well.

Parts of Northeast Georgia are bracing for yet another weekend of winter storms, with forecasted snow nearing 6 inches in places.

Because it’s still cold, National Weather Service meteorologist Carmen Hernandez warns snow could pile up on the roads quickly.

"So what we're looking at is it's been pretty cold over the past week, so those road temperatures are going to be closer to that freezing mark, so the snow is going to, like, immediately start sticking to the roads, causing widespread road issues," Hernandez said.

There could also be winds as high as 35 mph, with snowfall expected through Saturday afternoon.

Snow could remain on roads through Sunday due to the cold temperatures.
