Results are in for Tuesday’s runoff elections in Georgia.

Democrat Akbar Ali won the runoff to fill former state Rep. Shelly Hutchinson’s Gwinnett seat in the Georgia House. Hutchinson stepped down earlier this year to care for a family member with health challenges.

Ali is 21 years old, making him the youngest lawmaker under the Gold Dome.

Several cities in Georgia also voted for their new mayors. Democrat Mary Robichaux beat incumbent Republican Mayor Kurt Wilson in Roswell, and in Fort Valley, Shakeena Reeves won over incumbent Mayor Jeff Lundy.

The city of East Point elected Keisha Chapman as mayor and South Fulton elected Carmalitha Gumbs. Meanwhile, Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul won a fourth term against Democratic challenger Dontaye Carter.

Voters made final decisions in several Atlanta City Council and Board of Education races as well.
