Chatham County Sheriff

When voters in Chatham County head to the polls on March 1, they won’t just cast ballots in the presidential primary. They’ll also choose a new sheriff. Larry Stewart is a criminal justice professor at Savannah State University and a former law enforcement officer. He spoke with GPB's Emily Jones about the race for sheriff.

The candidates running in the nonpartisan special election are Roy Harris, McArthur Holmes, Kim Middleton, John Wilcher and Kenneth Williamson.

Four of the five candidates took questions from the public at a forum on Valentine's Day. Find their answers here.
