Visit Tybee director Sara Lane and Connect Savannah arts and entertainment editor Anna Chandler offer up some ways to have fun on the Georgia coast this holiday weekend.

Anna’s picks:

-Hear from - and maybe even meet - author, professor and commentator Roxane Gay at a talk at Trinity United Methodist Church on Thursday. Self-proclaimed “bad feminist” Gay is known for her fiction as well as her social commentary on issues of race, gender and culture. The Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home is bringing her to Trinity for its sixth annual Ursrey Memorial Lecture. Thursday, 7 p.m. with book signing at 8; free.

-Kick off the weekend with a blowout party at the Jinx - Party Bus, that is. Enjoy a no-holds-barred party with drag and burlesque performances and plenty of glitter, and sport your wildest “Lot Lizard Lounge Wear” or “CAT Bus Couture.” Thursday, 10 p.m.; $8.

-Nosh on every meat-eaters favorite food at River Street’s second annual Bacon Fest. Twelve local restaurants will offer up bacon creations, many of them a far cry from your standard-issue breakfast - like bacon chips and a BLT with bacon instead of bread. Friday, 4-10 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; free.

-Once you’ve eaten your fill, head across the river to the Savannah Craft Brew Festival at the convention center. Sip over 150 tasty brews and enjoy live music and a cornhole tournament. Saturday, 1-5 p.m.; $40-85.

Sara’s picks:

-It’s Labor Day weekend, which means events and fun on Tybee Island all weekend long. Enjoy live music at the pier Saturday, Sunday and Monday. And be sure to check out the Labor Day Beach Bash on Sunday, featuring music from the Swingin’ Medallions at the pier and fireworks after dark. All weekend, fireworks Sunday around 9:15; free.
