Published reports say the Atlanta Falcons have awarded Mercedes-Benz the naming rights to their new stadium.

The Sports Business Journal reports the German automaker will sign a contract with the team Friday and the Falcons will make an announcement Monday.

Mercedes recently moved its U.S. headquarters from New Jersey to Sandy Springs.

The company also holds the naming rights for the Louisiana Superdome, home turf for the Falcon's arch rivals, the New Orleans Saints.

The $1.5 billion stadium is scheduled to open in 2017. It will also be home to Atlanta's new pro soccer team.
