Molly Swagler of the Tourism Leadership Council and Tanya Milton of the Savannah Tribune offer up some events to help you have a great weekend in Coastal Georgia.

Molly’s picks:

-Sample delectable foods from rabbit and pheasant to poached figs and foie gras at Bistro Savoir Interactif on Friday. The event with Chef Jean Vendeville of Savannah Tech is an early taste of the Savannah Food and Wine Festival. Friday, 6:30 p.m.; $100 donation to a Savannah Tech scholarship fund

-Celebrate shrimp and grits at the Wild Georgia Shrimp Festival September 19-21 on Jekyll Island. Enjoy live music, craft beer and, of course, plenty of delicious local shrimp. Friday-Sunday, all day; $6 to park on Jekyll Island, $3 sample night Friday, otherwise free

-Jam to the best of southern music at Revival Fest on Saturday at the Georgia State Railroad Museum. Bands rocking blues, folk, bluegrass and everything in between will play all day on two stages sponsored by Do Savannah and GPB. Saturday, 12:30 p.m.; $35 general admission

Tanya’s picks:

-Eat your fill of local seafood at the Pin Point Seafood Festival Saturday at the Pin Point Heritage Museum. Enjoy crab, shrimp and low country boil as you learn about the rich history of one of Savannah’s Gullah-Geechee communities. Saturday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.; $5 festival entry, $10 entry to both festival and museum

-The Savannah Jazz Festival kicks off Sunday and continues through next weekend. Jazz bands from local schools will perform Sunday in Habersham Village, followed by performances from a number of jazz musicians Monday and Tuesday. Catch a documentary on the jazz favorite Hammond B3 organ at the City Market B&D Burgers Wednesday. Sunday through Saturday, various locations and shows; full details here

-Savannah’s NAACP branch will work to get out the vote with a voter registration drive Sunday. Just pick up forms at any of a number of area churches and return them to the NAACP.
