A Nevada judge has ordered a Savannah film studio to stop operating for now, a month after a shakeup at the company.

The judge in Nevada’s Second Judicial District Court has granted a temporary restraining order against Medient Studios at the request of ousted CEO Manu Kumaran.

The injunction prohibits Medient from issuing new stock, spending money belonging to the company, signing new contracts,or “any and all other business operations involving Medient.”

A hearing in the case is scheduled for July 23 in Reno, Nevada.

Kumaran filed a lawsuit last month in Nevada, where Medient is incorporated. The former studio CEO is asking the judge to dissolve the company.

Medient is not responding to requests for comment.
