Public health officials in Georgia are seeking public input on spending.

The state Department of Public Health and its board of public health want to hear from Georgia residents as they begin to plan for the amended budget for the 2014 fiscal year and the fiscal year 2015 general budget.

A public budget hearing is set for September 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the department's board room.

At the hearing, members of the public, special interest groups and lawmakers will have an opportunity to express opinions on how the department's resources should be used.

Anyone interested in speaking at the meeting is asked to submit a copy of their comments by September 3.

Speakers will be limited to three minutes each.
