The Georgia chapter of the NAACP and other organizations are planning a motorcade and rally to urge the Department of Justice to file federal charges — including civil rights violations — against George Zimmerman.

Organizers say a motorcade of about 200 bikers is expected to travel from the Stonecrest Mall east of Atlanta to the Georgia State Capitol Sunday afternoon to show support for Trayvon Martin.

The 17-year-old was fatally shot by Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, in Sanford, Fla. last February. Zimmerman followed the teen and said he shot Martin in self-defense after an altercation. A jury acquitted him in the teen's death.

The rally is expected to begin at 2 p.m. NAACP officials say supports are welcome to welcome to join regardless of race.
