One of the world's largest appliance manufacturers is bringing 225 customer service jobs to Augusta.

Electrolux is spending $2.5 million to renovate an existing facility for its North American major appliances expanded customer care center. According to a statement released by Gov. Nathan Deal, the center will be operational this fall.

The company, founded in Stockholm, Sweden, sells more than 40 million appliances for home and professional use a year, including refrigerators, dishwashers, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, cookers and air conditioners sold under brands such as Eureka, Frigidaire and AEG.

In 2010 Electrolux had sales of $14.7 billion and 52,000 employees.
