Ever wonder how a zip line works? Wonder no more! In our first STEMonstration, we'll investigate gravity, friction, and the physics behind launched objects. Using simple materials, GPB educators will build and test a way to move a small ball down a zip-line string in less than four seconds. Plus, you might even find a job you like in the mountains of north Georgia!

Your STEM students haven't been on a field trip in ages and they've had enough! They're taking extreme measures "to compare and contrast the characteristics, composition, and location of comets, asteroids, and meteoroids" by planning an interstellar field trip. Their rocket is almost ready, but they haven't started planning their spacesuits and you're a little worried that they don't fully understand the dangers of space travel. Join GPB Education and an intrepid potato for a STEMonstration about how meteoroids don't play nicely in space and what you can do to save the taternaut!

Utilizing engaging activities from PBS LearningMedia, participants will become familiar with collections from PBS hit shows that allow students to build their design and iteration skills while investigating and solving problems in engineering and aerospace. All of these resources are bookended with digitally integrated instructional strategies.
