Primary Content
Georgia Public Broadcasting’s legacy history series, Georgia Stories, is officially entering a new era. With the launch of 10 new episodes, this marks the beginning of an exciting rollout that brings Georgia’s past to life in ways that are more dynamic, inclusive, and visually engaging than ever before.
This first batch of new episodes highlights how people, events, and policies have shaped Georgia’s identity–from its early Indigenous people to the 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Each episode combines standards-aligned storytelling with dynamic graphics, vivid reenactments, and archival footage to deliver an immersive and engaging look at Georgia’s history.
For decades, Georgia Stories has helped students and lifelong learners alike connect with the people, places, and pivotal events that define the state. The new episodes expand on that mission and the Georgia Stories collection, combining timeless educational value with creativity and accessibility for today’s audiences.
Aligned to the Georgia Department of Education’s standards for 8th grade Georgia Studies, these videos are perfectly-fitted for your classroom’s mini-lesson! All episodes will also include discussion questions and teaching tips.
Additional episodes of Georgia Stories will be rolled out throughout 2026. All new, and classic, episodes can be found in one place on GPB’s website, offering a comprehensive library of Georgia history for classrooms, educators, and curious viewers across the state.
