Dot (mom), Lily (younger sister), Benny (youngest sibling, brother), Al (dad), and Corky (oldest sister) are the "Weather Hunters"

"Weather Hunters" is a new animated series from PBS KIDS for kids in kindergarten through second grade, created by America’s beloved host and weathercaster, Al Roker. Each episode is a 22-minute story featuring eight-year-old weather wiz and force of nature Lily Hunter and her family. The Hunter family explores and reports on all kinds of weather, everything from familiar rain, snow and fog to more extreme weather, like hurricanes. This series is about inspiring a whole new generation to understand the role of weather and weather patterns in our lives and to play a part in making a difference.

Celebrity voices include Al Roker as dad Al Hunter, Holly Robinson Peete as mom Dot Hunter, Sheryl Lee Ralph as neighbor Ms. Joyce and LeVar Burton as Al Hunter’s grandfather Wallace Reed Hunter.

The "Weather Hunters" investigate weather together.

PBS KIDS’ first series all about weather supports children’s curiosity about the natural world and inspires scientific thinking. Each episode of "Weather Hunters" is designed to support kids’ learning about Earth science and meteorology using weather tools and technology to cultivate their awareness, curiosity and understanding about how weather impacts individuals, communities and our global society. Among the key topics are observing and tracking weather patterns, investigating the weather at different times of the year and in different places around the world and the connection between weather, humans and everything around us.

The new series will premiere on September 8, 2025, and be joined by two new games. In Weather Reporter, players create avatars and make their own custom weather report. In Weather Explorer, players help Lily navigate changes in her environment as she heads out on adventures in all kinds of weather, including snow, rain, wind and fog.
