Thomas County Central head coach Justin Rogers joins the Football Fridays in Georgia podcast to reflect on the Yellow Jackets’ undefeated championship season, the challenge of replacing record-setting seniors, and the pressure that comes with sustained success. We also talk spring football, power rankings, South Georgia rivalries, the Hype Squad, and why winning never gets easier.

Thomas County Central is still celebrating, but Justin Rogers says next season's work has already started. After a 15-0 season and another state championship, the Yellow Jackets are balancing ring ceremonies with spring football and the reality that staying on top is harder than getting there.

Coach Rogers talks with Jon Nelson and Hannah Goodin about the cost of success, from tougher scheduling to staff changes to the pressure of replacing standout players like Christian “Deuce” Lawrence and Jalen Johnson. Lawrence set a Georgia state finals record with 380 rushing yards and five touchdowns in the title game, while Thomas County Central finished the season with a 62-21 win over Gainesville.

The conversation also shows Rogers’ lighter side. He explains how humor, the Hype Squad, and even his playoff beard help keep the program loose when expectations are high.
