State powers retain their dominance in final GPB Rankings

Five of the eight schools that began the playoffs ranked No. 1 in the GPB Rankings wound up clutching a championship trophy on the field at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Thomas County Central (5A), Sandy Creek (3A), Carver-Columbus (2A), Worth County (Class A Division I) and Hebron Christian (Private) entered the playoffs with the pressure of being the favorite and never stumbled. Buford (6A), Creekside (4A), and Bowdon (Class A Division II) won the other titles.
The teams that began the season No. 1 were: Grayson (6A), Milton (5A), North Oconee (4A), Calhoun (3A), Carver-Columbus (2A), Toombs County (A-DI), Bowdon (A-D2) and Prince Avenue Christian (Private).
