Class 4A: Creekside 42, Benedictine 39

Creekside accumulated 486 total yards and hung on to defeat Benedictine 42-39 in the Class 4A championship game on Monday.
The Seminoles finished 15-0 and won their first state championship since 2013. Creekside set a state record for most points scored in a season (845). Benedictine (11-3) was trying to win its first title since 2022.
Creekside quarterback Cayden Benson threw for 161 yards on 9-for-17 passing with two interceptions and one touchdown. Benson also rushed 13 times for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
Gary Walker ran 17 times for 149 yards and one touchdown and Ced Kelly ran 12 times for 61 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes, one for a touchdown.
Benedictine quarterback Stephen Cannon threw for 213 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a touchdown, but was sacked six times. Eron Mallard caught six passes for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
Creekside scored three unanswered points to overcome a 24-21 halftime deficit, but had to hold on when Benedictine scored twice to cut the margin to three. Creekside recovered the onside kick with 1:04 remaining and ran out the clock.
