Class 4A

Who: No. 3 Creekside (14-0) vs. No. 6 Benedictine (11-2)

When: Monday, 7 p.m.

About Creekside: The Seminoles, led by coach Maurice Dixon, return to the championship game after coming up short in 2023 against Coffee. The highly-weaponized team has scored a GSHA-record 803 points behind Region 4 Player of the Year QB Cayden Benson (2,680 yards passing, 37 TDs) and a stellar corps of receivers led by Damien Henderson, Eric Paul Jr. and Amani Hill, who have each scored double-digit touchdowns. The one-two running back tandem of Gary Walker (1,526 yards, 19 TDs) and Ced Kelley (944 yards, 22 TDs) is one of the best in the state. Kelley and Henderson were voted the region’s co-Offensive POYs. The defense is led by Tavarres Terrell, the league’s co-Defensive POY, who has 73 tackles and 18.5 sacks.  The front four all made the all-region team – Tighe Williams, Daniel Hold, Cassius Burch and Amarion Jones (all juniors) – along with linebackers Major Levell and Decari Farley and defensive backs Tyree Colzie, Carter Jamison and Sean Williams.

About Benedictine: The Cadets have consistently fielded championship teams since Danny Britt took over as head coach in 2011, winning four titles (most recently back-to-back in 2021-22) and reaching the semifinals three other times. BC lost its first two games to 6A powers Colquitt County and Buford and has since reeled off 11 straight wins – including an unheard-of 61-0 win over Warner Robins. The Cadets are led by Region 1 Player of the Year Bubba Frazier, a Notre Dame signee who has 1,247 all-purpose yards. Benedictine’s roster includes the region’s co-Offensive POY in Stephen Cannon, a Texas Tech signee who has thrown for 2,033 yards and 23 TDs; the co-Defensive POY in Kameron Cody; and the state’s No. 1-ranked prospect, 5-star DL LaDamion Guyton, who signed with Texas Tech. Other all-region selections were RB Stanley Smart, WR Eron Mallard, OL Collyn Ward, DL Isaac Scott, LB Jayden Houston and LB Larson Little.
