There are no changes at the top of the GPB Sports Top 10, but a trio of schools got enough votes to make their first appearance in the rankings.

Grayson (6A), Thomas County Central (5A), North Oconee (4A), Sandy Creek (3A), Carver-Columbus (2A), Worth County (Class A-DI), Lincoln County (Class A-D2) and Prince Avenue Christian (Private) retained their place as No. 1 in their respective classifications.

The new faces are Northgate at No. 10 in Class 5A, Southwest DeKalb at No. 10 in Class 4A and Temple at No. 10 in Class A Div. 1.

Northgate improved to 4-0 by defeating then-No. 8 Newnan 35-21. The Vikings, in their second season under head coach Kevin Whitley, went 2-8 in 2024. Northgate hasn’t won its first four games since 2016, when they went 9-3 and reached the second round of the playoffs.

Southwest DeKalb improved to 3-1 by defeating North Springs 49-0. The Panthers have won three in a row since dropping their season opener to Class 2A No. 6 Carver-Atlanta.

Temple did not play last week; the Tigers are 4-0 for the first time since 2016, when they finished 6-4  and did not make the playoffs in Region 5-AA. Temple went 9-3 last year and reached the second round of the playoffs.
