Milestones: North Hall coach earns 150th career victory

North Hall coach Sean Pender won his 150th game last week when the Trojans beat Cherokee Bluff 43-31. Pender, in his 24th season as a head coach is 150-106-1 with four region championships.
“Right now I’m just celebrating the win over Cherokee Bluff with my team,” Pender said afterwards. “It hasn’t really hit me yet.”
Pender is 22-14 in three seasons with a region championship at North Hall. Pender began her career by spending eight seasons at Brantley County, then moved to Crisp County for one year.
Pender spent 2011-16 at Pierce County and went 54-18 with two region titles. He followed that with five seasons at Brunswick, going 35-21 from 2017-21 with one region championship.
North Hall is 2-0 this season.
Dodge County earns 400th victory
Dodge County earned the program’s 400th victory with a 46-8 win over Central Macon on Friday. Since starting to play football in 1957, the Indians are 400-313-13 with seven region championships.
The program’s winningest coach was John Peacock, who went 69-43-1 in 10 seasons with three region championships from 1992-2001. Rex Hodges spent eight years in Eastman and went 60-31 with two region titles from 2011-2018. The current coach is Phillip Brown, who is 11-3 in his second season.
Win No. 300 for Jenkins football
The Jenkins High School program won its 300th career game on Friday when the Warriors defeated Groves 65-6. In 69 seasons of play, the Warriors are 300-391-8 with four region championships.
Current coach Tony Welch is in his fifth season and has a 23-24 record; the Warriors were 9-3 in 2024.
The winningest coach in program history is Tim Adams, who went 63-70-1 with one region championship in 13 seasons from 2004-2016. Bubba Attwood went 47-12-2 with one region title in six seasons from 1966-71. Jason Cameron went 33-7 with two region titles in three seasons from 2017-19, reaching the semifinal round in 2019.
