Effingham County's Industrial Authority is Paving the Way for America's Largest Movie Studio

The Effingham County Industrial Authority has approved a bond resolution for the industrial development bonds associated with the Medient Studios project.

The up to $300 million in bonds are for capital expenditures associated with the construction of what is being billed as “the nation’s largest movie studio complex”.

The site near Savannah, GA is 1,500 acres and Medient plans to create 1000 full-time jobs once the facility opens.

According to a report from WSAV.com, John Henry, CEO of the Industrial Development Authority stated "This is an extremely ambitious project, and I am pleased that Medient continues to demonstrate its ability to deliver on its commitments at every stage of the process. We are delighted that criteria we set in the MOU are being met and Medient can begin to develop the property as envisaged in the MOU."
