State officials, educators, parents, business and community leaders will converge on Capitol Hill January 25-26, 2016 to discuss the future of education in Georgia. State Representative Valencia Stovall (D-Lake City) will host the two-day Educate Georgia Summit at the State Capitol during the 2016 legislative session of the Georgia General Assembly. The summit will also feature the State of Education Luncheon with keynote addresses from Governor Nathan Deal and State Superintendent Richard Woods.

“The future of education in our state has been top of mind for many stakeholders, and our goal is to offer a platform for productive conversations on how we address today’s challenges and unlock new ideas for the future,” says Rep. Stovall.

This free summit will include interactive working groups on topics such as Quality Basic Education Funding and College and Career Readiness. Attendees will also participate in “lunch and learn” sessions and have the opportunity to attend the complimentary State of Education Luncheon to hear from a panel of experts on changes in education in Georgia and across the country.
