The International Day of the Girl, observed annually on October 11th, is a United Nations observance dedicated to recognizing girls' rights, celebrating their voices, and addressing the unique challenges and gender inequalities they face worldwide. We had the pleasure of having Atlanta-area girls visit GPB for an event with the Mayor's office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. 


This was the second International Day of the Girl event we partnered with the Mayor's office on and the theme for this year was A Girl’s Vision For the Future. It was a day filled with inspirational panels, mentorship and networking, and plenty of workshop opportunities.To follow this theme, we asked the girls to "see" themselves in their favorite PBS Kids characters. Here is what they had to say:
