The wheels on the bus go...to the library? Well, they usually go round and round, but on the first day of August 2025, they were on their way down Literacy Lane! To kick off the 2025-2026 school year, GPB partnered with MARTA and Page Turners Make Great Learners for an unforgettable day of fun and learning.
Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about GPB and the resources we provide young learners as they begin their new school year. Children enjoyed taking pictures with Alma from Alma's Way and letting their imagination go wild with GPB's Create Your Own Comic Book Adventure. When it was time for a snack, MokiPops had free popsicles for attendees they could eat while reading a book from the Brave+Kind Bookshop. Their literary journey continued on a Marta bus as they heard from New York Times bestselling author Derrick Barnes. The day ended with a mental health mindfulness moment led by Recording artist and hometown celebrity Trinidad James as part of his “Reflections Sundays” initiative.

In all, it was a great event and an amazing reminder to approach the year and the opportunity to learn with enthusiasm. For all kids starting the 2025 school year, GPB wishes you a happy and safe year filled with curiosity, discovery, and endless learning adventures!
