Would you like to know the secret to losing weight?
It’s math: Burn more calories than you take in -– and you'll lose weight!
A simple enough equation…with a lot of complex variables.

First, eat smarter. Pay attention to calories and nutrition.
Calories are energy units and they’re everywhere.
Carbs and proteins: 4 calories per gram.
Fat doubles that with 9. Alcohol provides 7 per gram. They add up…fast.

Check food labels … especially calories per serving.
Low Fat and Fat Free rarely mean calorie free.
Structured meal plans and meal replacements can also be helpful.

And exercise:
Walk the dog. Take the stairs. Park the golf cart.
Dust off the free weights. Hop on the elliptical. Burn those calories...
Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate exercise every week

Check out the Super Tracker at choosemyplate.gov.

Two thirds of US adults and a third of our kids are overweight or obese.
We’re fat. And some of us are getting fatter. We don’t have to be.
The bottom line: move more, eat smarter. Fighting obesity takes constant attention.
It isn’t easy- genetics play a role. …but you can do it!
Set your goal …and go for it.

Start now.
