James S. Fletcher enlisted in the Army and served with the 121st Infantry, 8th Division, in Burma and India. His time in the impoverished nations opened his eyes to a world he had never seen before. Mr. Fletcher recalls rats as big as cats, a run in with a village of head hunters, and training for a top secret mission.
