Herman Kirchler

Mr. Herman L. Kirchler was born in Alabama in June of 1922. He served with the Navy, eventually volunteering for deep-sea diving training. Mr. Kirchler recounts diving to the bottom of the ocean to salvage equipment from sunken boats, the strenuous conditions at boot camp, and the camaraderie he felt with the other deep-sea divers.
