Mr. Gene Cook, born December 12, 1925, served in the U.S. Army and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. Mr. Cook was a paratrooper and was dropped over France on D-Day. He describes fighting his way through France, a bloody battle at the Rhine River, and his experience on “Hell’s Highway.” Mr. Cook also witnessed the horror of the extermination camps during a two-day assignment in Dachau prison camp.
