Earl Priegel
Chief Cook Merchant Marines

Earl Priegel was born in Missouri in August of 1926. He served as a cook in the Merchant Marines, traveling to ports in the Philippines, the Persian Gulf, Italy and Aruba. Mr. Priegel remembers trying to get an assignment on a boat with an electric-powered kitchen, the daily routine on a tanker, and how little respect soldiers showed him after the war.
