WGPB
WGPB/97.7 FM is the Georgia Public Broadcasting station serving Rome and Northwest Georgia.
The station became part of the GPB statewide radio network in July 2006 when GPB purchased the former WKCX-FM, an adult contemporary station owned by Briar Creek Broadcasting. Adding this new station to our network gave us coverage in Northwest Georgia for the first time since GPB Radio began broadcasting in 1985, and gave listeners their first good access to public radio.
In addition to Rome, the WGPB signal covers major communities in the northwest of the state such as Cedartown, Summerville, Cartersville, Canton, and Dalton.
The WGPB studios are housed on the first floor of Heritage Hall, part of the Georgia Highlands College campus in downtown Rome.
Tune in to 97.7 FM weekday mornings at 6:33, 7:33, and 8:33 for WGPB news and weather; we'll keep you up-to-date on what's happening in Northwest Georgia!
