Way of the Warrior

Way of the Warrior examines the visceral nature of war and the bravery of Native American veterans who served in the United States military during the 20th century. The gripping stories of these Native Americans are told through the prism of what it means to be “ogichidaa,” one who protects and follows the ways of the warrior. The documentary delves into many subjects, including prejudice, forced assimilation, poverty, cultural pride, redemptive acts and healing. The documentary also explores the paradox that these veterans chose to fight for a country that considered them outside the American mainstream.
